The Story of Abraham in Egypt

1

Abraham was a descendant of Terah.

One day, God said to Abraham,

 Leave your country and go to a land I will show you.

God said he would bless him and make him famous, and he will bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him.

Abraham obeyed God.

Abraham in Egypt

He took his wife, Sarah, and his nephew, Lot, and left from Harran to the land of Canaan, Where God promised to give his descendant.

Abraham was 75years old when he left Haran. For many months,

Abraham traveled and arrived at Canaan;

He moved to the city of Bethel, where he set up a camp and alter for the Lord.

However,

There was a famine in Canaan (extreme scarcity of food) that

made Abraham left for Egypt. On the border to Egypt, He said to his wife.

You are a beautiful woman, you so attractive, when the Egyptian sees you, they will assume you’re my wife and kill me

So, When people ask you who am I to you, Tell them I’m your brother;

in this way, they will show kindness to me and let me live.

While in Egypt,

The King took Sarah as his wife and showed favor to Abraham.

The King gave him cattle, sheep, donkeys, camel, and slaves.

Abraham was leaving so large

One day,

the Lord sent terrible disease to the King and his people in his

palace because of what he did to Abraham.

The King later found out Sarah was Abraham’s wife.

He sent for Abraham and said Why didn’t you tell me this is your wife?

Why have you done this to me?

Here is your wife

Take her and leave my country.

Abraham left Egypt with all that was given to him. This is the story of Abraham in Egypt.
