In the book of Genesis 4: 1 – 16, Adam had intercourse with Eve and gave birth to Cain, the first Son, and later gave birth to a second Son called Abel.
Cain was a farmer, while Able was a shepherd.
On a faithful day, Cain brought some of his harvests and gave to the Lord, while Abel brought the first born of one of his sheep, killed it, and gave the best part to the Lord.
God was pleased with Abel’s offering and rejected that of Cain’s. This made Cain furious and angry.
The Lord spoke to Cain, why are you looking gloomy and angry; if you had done the right thing, I would have accepted it.
God warned Cain, Sin is crouching at your door, but he must overcome it. One day, Cain called his brother Abel to go out in the field. On their way, Cain turned against his brother and killed him.
God asked Cain where his brother is, he replied he doesn’t know; is he supposed to be his brother shepherd.
God said to him, why have done this wrong and killed your brother; as Abel’s blood was crying out from the ground.
God curses Cain that he will not produce anything again from the land and he weill be a homeless wanderer on this earth.
However, Cain lamented the punishment is too hard for him to bear as people who find him will kill him.
But the Lord said to him, any who kills you, seven lives will be taken in revenge.
Cain took his wife and left the Lord’s presence and lived in the land called wandering, east of Eden. This is the end of story of Cain and Abel in the bible
