Day 1 – Story of the creation 1: 2-5

0

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

……….. Deep Meaning ……….

On this day, God made the Day and Night by restoring the already existing light. The word “Let there be” is not a word of creation but a word of permission.

The heavens, including the Sun, Galaxy, earth, moon, etc., were already in existence according to Genesis 1: 1, and because of devils falls, the earth was formless, and Sun shut off, and there was darkness all over.

Why is the Earth Formless, Empty, Dark and without shape in Genesis 1,2?

The scriptures (Isaiah 45:18) made us understand that God’s creation is perfect and did not make anything desolate. The question here is why is the Earth formless and shapeless if the creation was perfect.

If you read closely at Genesis1: 2, it says, “Now the earth WAS formless,” meaning something has transpired between verse 1 (perfect Earth) and Verse 2 (Destroyed/formless Earth)

Let’s explain what happened between Genesis 1, 2 that made the earth formless and without shape.

Before the creation of Adam, there were already inhabitants on the earth. These races already existed on earth (pre-admic age). You may ask, who are these races?

According to the scripture, Lucifer (Devil) occupies the cherubim office and an archangel (Ezekiel 28:14)

His job is to take the word of God to the inhabitants of the earth and praises to God; he was a mediator. But instead, he corrupted the word and kept the praises of the inhabitant to him self.

These acts defiled his office with the iniquity of thy traffic, according to Ezekiel 28:18.

At the time, Satan fell like lightning from heaven (Luke 10:18), when he was cast down from heaven according to (Isaiah 14:12, Ezekiel 28:16, Revelation 12:7-9).

The earth was destroyed in God’s fierce anger. The inhabitants were scattered, the earth was a barren waste, mountains overturned, and the light was shut off according to Isiah 24: 1, Jerimiah 4:23-27.

I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void;
And the heavens, they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled,
And all the hills moved back and forth.
25 I beheld, and indeed there was no man,
And all the birds of the heavens had fled.
26 I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness,
And all its cities were broken down
At the presence of the Lord,
By His fierce anger.

We can’t say this occurred in Noah’s time because these events never happened during the time of Noah’s flood. It must have occurred before Adam’s existed.

So, this is why the earth was desolate, formless, shapeless, void until God started the work of restoration in Genesis 1: 3 and putting things back in place.
